Short description
Adaptil is a synthetic copy of the natural canine appeasing pheromone proven to help support dogs in a range of stressful situations.
Adaptil is canine specific, odourless, non-sedative, non-systemic and can be used alongside all other types of medication. The efficacy of Adaptil has been demonstrated in 18 studies published in scientific journals and at veterinary conferences around the world. For puppies Adaptil is shown to help puppies settle in a new home and to have significant positive effects on puppy socialisation. Fitting an Adaptil collar to puppies from 6-16 weeks helps puppies develop into confident, well-behaved adult dogs and significantly reduces the likelihood of anxiety-related conditions developing in later life. For adult dogs Adaptil has also been shown to help dogs cope in kennels, during rehoming and in a range of other stressful situations such as during firework exposure and car travel. Adaptil has been used by behaviourists, veterinary experts and welfare charities for the last 10 years. Adaptil is available in three easy to use formulations. Adaptil is supported by a satisfaction guarantee.

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmI have a black Labrador - aged 4 - who is overly loving of other people, and quite intimidated/scared of small dogs (not large dogs at all). We tried out this collar over several days of walking around the local parks, and while our dog was showing fewer signs of fear around the smaller dogs we encountered, she would still back away if they came too close. I think that - if used consistently over a longer period (and, possibly, introduced earlier in life when these behaviours first presented themselves) it could be an effective product. I'll keep trying it and might come back with an update. Note: I was gifted with a product sample to trial and review'

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmWe recently tried the Adaptil Collar for my large dog that has anxiety issues. We noticed in the first couple of weeks that it definitely had a positive impact and reduced his stress around being outside/passer-by's while at home. I think this product is great to add to your toolkit, but is not a cure-all.Unfortunately the affects didn't seem to last the four weeks, I think we got a good two weeks. We will definitely be keeping this in mind for the future, I think it would be great for higher stress situations like dog sitting or when adding new additions to the family. I was gifted this product to trial and review. '

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmWe have our dog Junno who is very timid for someone so big (Rottweiler) and this collar has helped to put her in a better state. She was super scared of loud noises, cars and unfamiliar people. She cowers a lot of the time and hides when simple things like a spoon accidentally hitting her dog bowl when it's feeding time makes noise but I've noticed this collar has helped with that. She also now comes to the back door when she hears different voices when she would basically run and hide before!Junno has gotten better at walking and enjoys her daily walk now - I no longer have to carry her home if a car comes speeding past us unexpectedly!I was gifted a sample to try and review.'

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmThis collar might be useful for those that keep their collars on their pet in town, but unfortunately didn't suit our needs of being in a farm and rarely using a collar. Though our pup gets quite set off by noises like nail clippers, the vacuum etc. We felt by putting it on her before these tasks would pre-empt the collar being associated to the things that set her off. As we run our dogs quite frequently, we felt we were more nervous by having a collar that she could catch herself on, and wasn't a risk we wanted take, so took it off. Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmI have a large dog that gets quite anxious with loud noise. Our neighbours are renovating their house and with the building recently, our dog has been running from room to room trying to hide. She was constantly dribbling and panting as well. When I introduced this collar she calmed down within a day and was able to stay calm enough to let herself settle (wasn't constantly up and down trying to hide). She also stopped dribbling and is more confident in her body language throughout the day. I definitely recommend this product!I was gifted a product sample to trial and review'

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cm'I used this on my 10yo Husky for a trip to the Vets for her annual vaccinations. I put it on an hour prior to leaving the house. She loves car rides so they anxiety doesn't usually arise until we are at the veterinary car park, she seemed a bit more docile than normal but unfortunately once in the waiting room, signs of distress were no different. I would definitely try again but perhaps in conjunction with other calming methods. I was gifted this product sample to trial and review. '

Adaptil Stress Relief Medium & Large Dog Collar 70cmWe have a very anxious Labrador who is wary of other dogs, loud noises, bad weather/storms, and strangers. We tried the Adaptil Calm On-the-go Collar, and whilst it didn't make a significant improvement, it did seem to reduce her anxiety a little bit. It was straightforward to use, although our dog made it difficult to put on as she kept moving to try and sniff it. Overall happy with it and will continuing using this collar.I was gifted a product sample to trial and review. '
