We are on a mission!

To help rescue animals find loving forever homes, this July we will be hosting a Pet Adoption Weekend in selected Animates stores. As pet adoption advocates, our stores have proudly partnered up with animal rescue groups to promote lovable rescue pets and show prospective pet-parents just how great they are!

Event Details

When: Saturday 11 – Sunday 12 July 2020
Time: 11am - 3pm (both days)
What: If you are thinking about adding a furry superhero to your family, come along to meet pets available for adoption with local rescue group representatives, learn more about saving lives through pet foster care...or simply come in for a cuddle! More event information coming soon

As animal lovers, we are devoted to putting our furry friends’ well-being at the centre of everything that we do. For this reason we don't sell cats and dogs in our stores anymore and believe it's in the animals' best interest to support credible NZ animal rescues and promote pet adoption instead.

In addition to providing animals with the medical care, love and attention that they need while in foster homes, these animal rescues will make sure that each pet is is carefully matched with the right family to call their own. Furthermore, our adoption events will help to educate the community about adoption, responsible pet ownership and the wonderful work of our rescue group partners!
