Just like we need to look after our own health, it’s important to keep an eye on your dog’s health too. There are several common health issues to look out for in dogs, and whilst a lot of them can be treated at home, we do recommend seeing a vet when it comes to the health of your dog.

Ear infections are a common problem, especially in longer ears. Ear infections in a dog can cause discomfort and health problems if left untreated. In many cases, ear drops will help and can be applied at home. Eye infections in dogs are also a common issue. They often start with a little gooey discharge and can worsen. Your vet may recommend eye drops to help.

Because of their playful nature, dogs can often get themselves into a scrape. Wound care for dogs is essential, as it can often get worse if not treated properly. Also, keep a good look out for cough. If your dog is coughing, it could indicate an infection and will need medical treatment immediately. Anxiety in dogs is also common and can be caused by various situations, from moving house or riding in cars to simply missing their owners. An anxiety medication like Adaptil can help relax and reassure an anxious dog.

There is also a wide range of dog supplements that can ensure your dog is getting the vitamins it needs to stay in good health. And as dogs get older, dog joint supplements can also help them stay comfortable.
