Small Pet

Good things come in small packages! Small pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and mice are great pets that are social, active, and alert. But because they are small doesn’t mean they need less looking after, they’ll need the right food, a place to live, things to play with – and a whole lot of big love. If you’re preparing your place for a small companion, you’ll need some basics to get started like small pet housing, food, toys, treats and more.

A safe home is important for a small pet. Rabbits and guinea pigs are both curious little creatures, so you’ll need the right small pet housing. They are happiest outdoors so a rabbit hutch or outdoor cage with an enclosed area for them to retreat to is ideal. When it comes to rats and mice there’s a lot of small pet housing to suit, from 3-level rat cages to smaller mouse cages. There’s also a big range of bedding for small pets, from beds to hammocks.

Small pet toys also go down well. There is a variety of bunny toys and other small pet toys that’ll help bust the boredom and give them something to do. Guinea pigs also like to have a bit of fun and are quite happy to play with rabbit toys. Tunnels are also a hit with small pets!

When it comes to small pet food high fibre pellets and fruit and veggies will give them a well-balanced diet. Water is also important, so choose a small pet water bowl or a water bottle so they always have something to sip. And of course – there’s always small pet treats for a special occasion!
