Fish

Keeping fish is a rewarding hobby and they can make fascinating pets. There’s a wide range of beautiful-looking fish available, and when it comes to taking care of them there are certain fish to suit beginners, to fish that require more looking after. For example, goldfish are simple when you’re starting out, whereas certain tropical fish may require a more advanced setup. Whatever fish you decide to keep, they’ll all need slightly different fish food, fish housing, and fish supplies.

When it comes to fish food there’s a huge variety available. Think about your fish species and what fish food they require. Most fish you’ll keep at home can be fed dry fish food, like flakes, granules, or pellets. There are also larger blocks of fish food which will keep them fed while you’re away on holiday.

Fish housing is also important, and there are many sizes to choose from. For example, if you’re only keeping a few fish, then a small aquarium will do. Or if you’re planning on keeping several tropical fish then you’ll need a larger heated aquarium. There are basic self-contained fish housing which include a pump and light, or you can create your own and buy separate parts to make an aquarium to suit your place.

Decorating your fish housing is also a fun time – with a lot of fish décor available to personalise your aquarium. From castles to coloured rocks – the choices are endless. At Animates we’ve got a huge range of fish supplies to help you take care of your fishy friends.
