The health benefits for the native bird population are helpful too. Current research has shown that leaving the right food out for native bird species helps give them an advantage during cold weather when food isn’t readily available. Birds that visit a feeder regularly enjoy higher breeding success than those that don’t. They lay eggs earlier, produce more eggs and their chicks weigh more
